They Still All Look Alike
Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) was indicted a few days ago on 16 counts of public corruption. Fox News carried the report -- sort of. As Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo explained:
But apparently Fox News Channel can't tell one African-American member of Congress from another, in this case Rep. Jefferson from Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee ...See also Jeff Hoard of Aol's News Bloggers, Fox News vs John Conyers, on the issue.
That's right. In it's news report, Fox News mistakes John Conyers for Jefferson, showing footage of Conyers while reporting on Jefferson's indictment. I guess they still all look alike.
Here's the Daily Show recitation on the incident.

UPDATE (6/8/07): And this news about Fox News should not be a surprise to anyone, because this is not the first time Fox has shown video of one black elected official while discussing another -- in the previous case, airing footage of Harold Ford Jr. while talking about Sen. Barack Obama. See Media Matters. (Via Make Them Accountable)
