Better Days

Last night, after an enjoyable dinner at nearby Ernesto’s, we went with friends to see Dianne Reeves at The Kimmel Center. A night of great food, great venue, great music. What a treat!!

As Blinq described the concert:

Friday night is a double feature of serious jazz chops: singer Dianne Reeves and pianist Jason Moran. She's got the smoky alto that provided the after-deadline atmosphere in George Clooney's Good Night and Good Luck. He's a major player.
Dianne Reeves has an unbelievable voice and range. She is an excellent example of the voice as an instrument. She's not only a singer, but -- in her words -- a storyteller. Reeves & her band really connected with the audience. At one point, she said that she felt like she was giving the concert in her living room. The crowd was one of the most enthusiastic I've seen.

Here's Dianne Reeves (with the same wonderful band), singing "In Your Eyes."

(Via Bling, you can also listen to Dianna Reeves with Geri Allen, Maiden Voyage)
