Quote of the Day

Commenting on the sad & sordid state of the GOP, Joe Murray agonizes about the open Senate seat in Virginia, which is up for grab with the retirement of John Warner. His piece, Run, Pat, Run, in The Evening Bulletin - the paper for the 3 Republicans in Philly, includes this gem:

Virginia is home to a vast majority of the most influential men in American history. Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Robert E. Lee and Patrick Henry all called ole Virginny home. All of these men were driven by the courage of their convictions and placed their country before their comfort. They defined the patriotism that sustains this nation.

Centuries later, there is still a man in Virginia who has the vision of Jefferson, the wisdom of Washington, the loyalty of Lee and the oratory prowess of Henry. And, most importantly, he has the ability to win Warner's seat and reignite the GOP. That man is Pat Buchanan. (Emphasis added)
Yes, that Pat Buchanan. And that Pat Buchanan.

Note: A Commenter adds that Murray should know about which he speaks -- he was a political speech writer for Buchanan (a fact not mentioned in the article).
