Obama NEVER promised he'd take public money. He said he'd consider meeting with his GOP opponent to discuss the issue. Then his campaign raised a gazillion dollars. Plus, he knows the 527 Swiftboaters are already sharpening their knives for him. Plus McCain gets millions of dollars worth of free media every day via the talk radio herd. Plus the Corporate Media has a pro-McCain slant, through and through.
I'm GLAD he opted out. It might actually LEVEL the playing field.
I have to say that I'm not that worked up over the campaign finance issue. That was merely a vague "promise" that has to do with running the campaign. It's not as thought he's getting all his $$ from lobbyists, unlike lawbreaking McCain, who is in violation of the campaign reform laws he already agreed to as we speak.
I am annoyed at his FISA position, which is more important (and I know that he really knows how important it is). I do feel that even a politician has to have some core principles beyond which they will not go. Lately, I just don't seem to see that much. They unfortunately seem all to willing to sacrifice anything to get elected. Either that, or they have none to begin with.
My on-line version of posting articles and cartoons on the fridge at the office, where I hang out, eat lunch (& sometimes work) with the LLWL Gang (Lady Lawyers Who Lunch, a/k/a my officemates).
Musings on politics, law, life & literature. Mixed with a little humor in between.

See, here's the thing about that:
