Time to Say Goodbye

She's off. The holiday season is officially over with the departure of our daughter, who headed back to Miami this afternoon.

She was home from college on Christmas break for a month and, once we managed to get past the curfew/no curfew tussle, things settled back in to the old routines. It was the first extended visit since she headed off to school in August and I know that she had mixed feelings about leaving. The same was true for us.

With the cold spell that we've been having the past few days, the warm weather was beckoning. It was about 80 degrees this afternoon in Miami, while it barely got about 30 degrees here. It makes me think a trip south needs to be in the offing soon.

The only bad thing was that her flight was in the middle of the Eagles game, so she wasn't able to watch the big win over the Giants (although the pilot did announce the score during the flight). Both she and DavePhilly were happy, since the Eagles and the Steelers both won. My husband is as big a Steelers fan as PhillyAngel is for the Eagles, so I can't imagine what it would be like if it were a Pennsylvania Superbowl!
