Ballsalicious
I certainly couldn't come up with a better caption that Jon Stewart did, commenting on Stephen Colbert's roast at White House Correspondence dinner. (For my earlier post on the dinner and the videos, see The Colbert Lampoon). Colbert roasted Bush and his cronies, as well as the press, at the dinner and proceeded to get roasted afterwards by them and more. Lucky for him he's "Ballsalicious."
You can check out the post mortem by Stewart and Colbert himself here: Ballsalicious.
Dan Froomkin of the Washington Post's White House Briefing, had the best comment about the dinner:
Yes, it turns out Colbert has brought the White House and its press corps together at long last, creating a sense of solidarity rooted in something they have in common: Neither of them like being criticized.Speaking of Colbert, you can also check out the real Colbert during his interview on 60 Minutes. It's interesting to see him out of character. When Colbert started his show, except for a skit here and there, I wasn't overwhelmed by it. This was mostly because I don't watch O'Reilly and his brethren to appreciate the origin of his persona. However, he has really developed the format of the show nicely, with just the right mix of sarcasm and wit.
