Did I Say That?
I can't decide whether the people who people the Bush Administration can't remember all the spin they've spun over time or if they really just don't give a damn. See, e.g., A Lie Told Well. They continually are "surprised" to have their very own words come back to haunt them. Now, I believe that everyone from that generation was taught that you shouldn't lie. As my mother always lectured, it's harder to remember all the lies, so you'll eventually getting tripped up and caught in the lies. I think instead it must be plain old arrogance and contempt. They just don't care and when confronted, respond with spin on the spin.
Overall, this is bad for them, bad for the country. However, on the plus side, does provide some entertainment for us (and who said liberals never look for the positive). And who better to do it than Jon Stewart?
His latest installment is related to the announcement of Goss' successor, General Hayden, in Goss Loss.
The Runsfeld confrontation by ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern also provides some fodder, in Shit Happens. (Original video link of is at Crooks and Liars).
